Academics: Student Recognition

Our school philosophy states, "....our goal is to develop all aspects of the student's personality, we promote healthy self-esteem, respect for others....."

To this end an extensive student recognition program is in place that is meant to recognize the accomplishments of our students and the 'good' that they do:

  • Teachers who 'catch' a class of students going above and beyond what is normally expected have an opportunity to enter the class in the 'nominated class gotcha' drawing. The teacher prepares a written statement of the occurrence. The first Friday of each month all nominations are read during morning announcements, a class is randomly chosen, and that class receives a reward!
  • The 'Grade of the month' award is also given in the middle of each month to a particular class. The class is randomly chosen; and 'Just because' they are a part of Corpus Christi they get to pick 'a prize'!
  • Each day during morning announcements students are recognized for their participation in the many co-curricular and extracurricular activities. All students are encouraged to make the office aware of their participation and accomplishments in order that their picture be taken and proudly displayed on our Corpus Christi recognition bulletin board.
  • The monthly gathering of students to practice hymns for liturgical celebration is used as an opportunity to publicly recognize the achievements of those students who participated in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
